Harris and his wife, Sarah Estelle Whitson Harris are musicians living in Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas. Both are accomplished "mountain" musicians, playing the fiddle, guitar, and other instruments. Walter Harris is publishing a book called "Short Stories by a Pioneer Teacher". He is also the author of numerous articles published in the Ozark Mountaineer and other area newspapers.
